If you’re like me, this lockdown is really weird and it can be hard to imagine life going back to normal, but I’m trying to think of all the things that I have to look forward to after! So that’s what I’m gonna attempt to do now, with a list of all the things that I’m excited to do when life gets back to (somewhat) normal!
The first thing I have to start off with is definitely the biggest, which is moving! I really cannot wait to move! I’ve loved Winchester so much and I have so many good memories here, but the last year has been awful for me and it’s meant that I’m itching to get away from my current house and get as far away as I can! And moving will be a huge step, but it will open me up to so many exciting things like living with my boyfriend, starting my PGCE and just living in London in general will be so much fun! I really cannot wait to feel properly at home somewhere. And I really miss my boyfriend, so moving in together after the lockdown is definitely something to look forward to!
The second is something I have to do before I leave Winchester, which is go to Josie’s as many times as I can. If you’re from Winchester you’ll know Josie’s does hands down the best breakfast food and pancakes. If you love food, Josie’s is a must on a visit to Winchester. Every time I go I fall in love with a new special, and honestly I am still dreaming of the raspberry cheesecake french toast they did two years ago. One of the major things getting me through lockdown is the thought of walking through the doors and having a delicious pancake stack! I mean just look at these beauties!
The third has to be starting my teacher training and finishing my Masters! September is definitely going to be a stressful month, I’ll start my PGCE at the start and my Masters Dissertation is due at the end… So the overlap will be interesting… But I am so excited to finally get into teaching and do what I really want to do, my masters has been fun but I am ready for it to be over! I really just can’t wait to start my final degree and have fun becoming a teacher, having my own classes and meeting other people who want to do the same thing as me!
The fourth is meeting up with my friends, I really can’t wait to get back to normal and be able to go and meet my friends, and go to Josie’s together before I leave Winchester. I’m really excited to be able to actually meet my friends face to face again, rather than just talking online. I’ve also reconnected with some of my friends because of the lockdown and I can’t wait to be able to meet them after and catch up on everything.
Finally, I’m really excited to go on holidays! I mean I don’t have any booked although as I’m writing this I am meant to be in Croatia, and Amsterdam at the end of the month but unfortunately they were both cancelled. There are so many places I want to travel to, and I am determined to go on holiday soon! Just the thought of travelling somewhere I’ve never been fills me with joy, finding new places and old streets, great food and bright colours. I love exploring when I’m on holiday, and I can’t wait to go on holiday and see as many places as I can!
What things are you looking forward to after lockdown? I think it is a really good way to remind yourself of all the good things that are coming up in the future, even if they seem really distant and not tied down!
Love,
Carey
