Recently, after reading more and more during lockdown I started to get really involved with the book community on instagram, and loved it. I’ve loved sharing my thoughts on books, reading books I never would have picked up or heard of before and making friends because of it. Having a space to talk about things I love is really important to me, spending so many years unable to due to friends with different interests and losing my interests because of a lack of time for them.
So, I’ve started a youtube channel, and I’m starting off on booktube so that I can talk about what I am really loving at the moment, which is reading. Reading has always been special to me, and has always helped me escape to other worlds and it is something that over the past couple of years I have done less because of university, however, this year my reading amount has gone through the roof and it feels really natural to step into booktube.
So please head over to my channel and watch my videos, or the only one I have at the moment, I want to upload more and put my time into these creative outlets. This doesn’t mean I’ll stop posting on my blog though, I’m going to try and have enough content to do both! I’m so excited about all the things that I’ll be able to do in the future with this channel, so it may not just be bookish content!
My first video of course had to be the booktube newbie tag in which you answer some questions about why you want to join, your reading habits etc! I hope that you enjoy it and that I continue to upload every week!
